Revoltech Queen's Blade - Echidna

Next up in the Queen's Blade series from kaiyodo/Revoltech will be Veteran Mercenary Echidna.
The figure will be released 1st August 2009 at 2900Yen (~SGD$43).

As with figures released so far in this series, this revoltech will be cast-offable so you can get her in various ecchi poses at your leisure [you pervs.. :) ] Comes with the standard accessories of interchangeable hands, a sickle like weapon, shield and the obligatory "pained" face.

Alter Ikki Tousen Great Guardians- Kakouen Myousai & Ryomou Shimei 1/8 PVC Figure

Alter has announced yet more PVC figures to be announced this year (Arghh my poor wallet!!)
This time its those gorgeous girls from Ikki Tousen. I watched the anime (yes all seasons :P ) and its really is pure violence and fan service. The plot if horrible and the animators try to make it up with gratuitous pantsu shots, over the top cleavage Zoom-In, clothes getting ripped flying everywhere.. Well you get the idea.

I'll just intro both PVCs at one go since
A) I'am lazy and
B) Ikki Tousen girls have been done to DEATH. there are so many out there from so many companies. Almost as many as the number of panty shots in the anime (ok..not SO many)

Kakouen gets the dynamic "kick showing my panty" pose, and this works well for the figure. Facial expression , flowing hair and skintight dress complete the picture. Fairly plain but thats how she dresses in the anime anyone. BUT i have 1 BIG gripe... WHAT IS WITH THE SEAMLINES JOINING THE ARMS TO THE BODY??? Omg, Alter, you could have done much better then that. Those seamlines are very obvious and just cuts the figure up.. Alter messed up for this one.. too bad, you can't win them all.

Ok on to the next one, ryoumou is wearing her signature maid outfit and this is done really well on the figure. Good detailing down to the silver buckets on her hands/shoes to the small silver cross in front of her ample chest. The handcuff is also a really nice touch and really rounds the figure off well. Alter rakes back 1 point for this nicely done figure of Ryoumou.


Overall not too bad releases from Alter, however Ikki tousen fans who are used to cast-off feature would be disspointed because these 2 are not cast offs. So no naughty bits for you :P

Official Announcement: ACTSTA Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS- Subaru Nakajima 1/8 Action Figure

GSC has officially announced the launch of this new line of figure starting with Subaru in Nov this year. As mentioned in an earlier post, actsta is a new action figure series from Good Smile Company, designed to focus on both mobility and superior sculpting.

If the pics are anything to go back, GSC and Liquidstone really aced this one.
This ActSta is based off a garage kit designed by Liquid Stone, GSC refined the sculpting and color. I must say the figure looks really good with nice bright colors and fantastic detailing. The joints which allows Subaru to take a variety of poses are integrated well into the figure and do not look out off place or disjointed.

The figure comes with interchangeable face parts, arm parts and shoes to match the various poses that you can have Subaru take.

I must say GSC really hit the jackpot with this line, it makes me want to sell off all my Figmas and replace them with ActSta figures :) Bigger is Always Better :P

Nendoroid Raspberyl

Yet another Nendoroid is slated to be released from a video game. This time its Raspberyl from Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, a tactical RPG on PS3.

This nendoroid comes with 3 separate face parts and various items from the game (glasses, meat, book). The black, white & pink color scheme looks nice and the addition of the little wings wings are a nice touch. But somehow, this nendo does not strike me as cute.. i think "impish" is more apt...

I am still undecided on this figure. I never played the game and the character design though not ugly, does lack that certain "X Factor" for me. I may wait and see is Raspberyl falls into the bargain bin later on before i get her.

Nendoroid Arawn

Scheduled for released in Oct 2009, comes the Great Demon King, Arawn. Arawn comes from the hit game and anime series Tears To Tiara.

The sculpt and detailing for Arawn looks really good, with his characteristic red scarf and black coat. This nendoroids comes with 3 faces(1 more then normal), grinning face, an upset face and a startled face. From the pics it seems that his is crimson sword 'Edram' looks abit plasticky but Iam hoping that this is due to lighting. The scabbard is also as well as the apple seen in the opening theme to the anime. Seems no shortage of accesories for Arawn :0

As I mentioned before when Riannon when released, its rare to get a nice male nendoroid released. So I 'll definitely be getting this to complement the bevy of nendoroid ladies I already have. :)

MaxFactory Figma Magical Girl Nanoha StrikerS- Shamal Knight ver.

Following Signum from 'Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS' comes a figma of one of the Wolkenritter leaders, Shamal. Expected release date is in September 2009.

I think MaxFactory recognises that Shamal is not exactly the 'hottest" character in the nanoha series and therefore have included additional parts intended the recreate the union of reinforce and Yagami. This part mainly being the white hair which you can interchange with your Yagami figma. Even a super mini reinforce is included with Shamal. Some minor gripes though, from the pics, the included reinforce looks HIDEOUS. She looks like shes got no eyes and the sculpt is pretty bad. For the Yagami unison parts, I think Yagami looks much better with her normal brown hair (you can see for yourself in the comparison pic below). Overall, the idea the a good one, but the execution is lacking. They would have been better off bundling a replicasof the pendulum Shamals uses as a device (Klarer Wind), now that would have been cool :)

You notice I don't talk much about the Shamal figma itself. Thats because the figma like the character in the anime is ...forgetable. A supporting character in the anime and this figma will also be a supporting piece for your other figmas if you decide to get her.

My thoughts anyway.
