[Random Toy Post] 11 Sept 2009

Heres another random toy post. This time its an absolutely stunning resin figure of Kos-Mos from Xenosaga. This will be at 1/4 scale so its nice and big. The colors and detailing are absolutely stunning. And that huge gun looks amazing.

E2046 has start taking pre-orders for this beauty.
Check it out HERE if you have skills and can airbrush her yourself.
Or HERE if you are like me a talentless lazy bum who must buy fully painted. :)

GSC WHITE ALBUM - Yuki Morikawa 1/8 PVC Figure

From the series WHITE ALBUM which was originally a Japanese adult visual novel developed by Leaf, which later spawned a manga & anime, comes a PVC figure the main female lead Yuki Morikawa.

This figure has some nice paint shading on the skirt and sash. I also like how her hair looks from the back. The pastel red/pink colors are pleasing to the eye, and the pose and facial expression makes it feel like shes really singing (this figure should come with a singing base. Now THAT would be fantastic )

However, I really prefer the colors and look of Rina Ogata (see last pic) who is to be officially announced by GSC next month. Rina's bright striking colors(silver, blue, black stockings, gold trim... cool) and 'glam" feel really does it for me.

having said that, i try to cut down on randomly buying figures I find "nice" as compared to figures i REALLY want. So I would probably skip this and Rina also...

But you may think otherwise, so heres some pics for you.

If you decide you want one.. you can get yours HERE from PlayAsia. They ship internationally and offer free shipping to singapore.

MaxFactory Figma - Canaan

Scheduled to be released Nov 2009 is a figma of the main charactor from the Canaan anime, Canaan herself.

The Figma comes with the usual assortment of hands , 3 facial expressions(normal, smiling & angry). Nice accessory Maxfactory added was the pistol is fitted with a sliding mechanism to recreate scenes when Canaan reloads her weapon. Also included is a sort of "bang" piece which
be attached to the pistol to give a firing effect.

Fans of the anime would want to grab this figma. For the casual collector , you just have to see if it would fit into your existing collection. I am thinking there could be some posing possibilities with Golgo.. hmmmzzzz

Bandai DX Chogokin Aquarion Gold Ver. (Tamashii Web Shop Limited)

Bandai has announced they are going to re-issue Aquarion as a Tamashii Web Shop Limited item. Retailing at 20,790Yen(~SGD320), this Aquarion would be gold plated version, 40cm tall and made of ABS, PVC and Zinc Alloy.

This version is probably based on the previous DX Chogokin GD-99 that was released in 1008, so you would expect all the same features, such as coming with Vector Sol, Vector Mars, and Vector Luna and being able to combine into Solar Aquarion, Aquarion Mars, and Aquarion Luna. Being based on the same design probably also means it would come with the same set of problems that plague the previous versions. namely being, unable to stand when combined without the stand and the absolutely hair wrenching complicated combination/transformation. What is different besides the whole toy being gold plated is the inclusion of 10 parts to re-create the "Mugen Infinite Punch" at seen in the last episode.

Overall seems like a nice piece to get. I quite liked the anime after watching it and being gold plated seems to add to Aquarion's already good looks. Since the price of the original pieces have already skyrocketed to ridiculous amounts on the resellers market, this is a good chance to get Aquarion. +1 for me :)

This is scheduled for a late December 09 release.

Alter K-ON - Hirasawa Yui 1/8 PVC Figure

Following closely on the heels of the Akiyama Mio announced last month, Alter is going to release a 1/8 PVC of Hirasawa Yui. But hey, this is not unexpected rite. You KNEW it was coming...just like you know that would be releasing Ritsu and Azasa sooner or later...

Anyways.. this is a really nice sculpt of Yui. I think it captures the "essence" of the character of the show with its pose and facial expression. Her 'Giita' (ギー太) has also been faithfully re-created here. (maybe it looks too clean..kekekke) . Yui also looks great when displayed together with Mio , and I can just imagine having all 4 of them displayed together against a live stage backdrop would be awesome. (and of course wallet killing and space burning :P )

Fan of series? Get it. Just like Japanese girls in uniform? Get it.

You can get yours HERE from PlayAsia. They ship internationally and offer free shipping to Singapore.

Alter Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st - Takamachi Nanoha (Stand by Ready) 1/7 PVC Figure

Alter is going to release the Takamachi Nanoha figure from the upcoming OVA of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st ( 魔法少女リリカルなのは THE MOVIE 1st ).
The sculpt will be based on Nanoha when she's young and even this will be different from how she looks in the original anime. As there are new character designs for the OVA, this figure would follow that rather than how Nanoha looked in the TV series.

I personally prefer the character design of Nanoha when she is all grown up (but maybe thats because I'm not a lolicon :) ) but this figure does look not too bad. Nice "flying "pose of Nanoha and the usual level of detail you would expect from Alter. "Raging Heart" comes with in 2 forms which is a nice touch.

Since I already pre-ordered the other Nanoha from Alter , I think I will pass on this. But for fans of the earlier Nanoha series this is a must get. You can't go wrong with Alter :)

Will be released in January 2010. Around 270mm tall (base included), 9,800 yen.

You can get yours HERE from PlayAsia. They ship internationally and offer free shipping to Singapore.
