GSC Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StikerS - Teana Lanster Actsta 1/8 Action Figure

2nd figure from the Actsta line is Teana Lanster from the anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS . (darn I was hoping they'll do another character.. anyways..) Scheduled to be released June 2010 for 9800Yen.

Teana comes with 3 expressions, as well as hair parts to let her hair down so that you can display her as she looked after the StrikerS series. Also included is her device 'Cross Mirage' in four different forms.

Overall, the figure still reminds me of a BIG figma rather then a PVC figure that is poseable. It just does not have the detailing that good PVC figures have. That being said this series seems to have lots of play value with the posability and the accessories included. However it doesnt seem to have caught on yet. Maybe if GSC releases some more popular characters. Who knows.. we'll have to wait and see.

Medicos Entertainment JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure - Crazy Diamond Action Figure

From Medicos Entertainment’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure line comes an action figure of Crazy Diamond.Scheduled to be released in March 2010 at a rrp of 3500Yen, i decided to post this as I thought it looks pretty cool.

This figure is based on the original manga image, seems to be well detailed and articulated. Also included is a dizzying array of of option parts, such as a shouting head, 11 option hands , a speech baloon that reads "Dorararararararararatsu!" , a rifle bullet and the blood stained glass used in the climactic final battle. Thats good value for 3500Yen :)

I think the character design looks good and particularly love the hand which allows crazy diamond to hold various objects between his fingertips (see pics below).

Maybe getting this just for kicks... :)

MaxFactory BFC-MAX12 Bio Booster Armor Guyver - Zoalord Imakarum Mirabilis

After two and a half years of silence, the 'Bio Booster Armor Guyver' BFC-MAX series is back, and to welcome back the series is the Zoalord equipped with the ability to control gravity and space, Imakarum Mirabilis! Zoalords are the leaders of Kronos. They all have 'Zoacrystals', crystalline structures implanted in their forehead, giving them psychic abilities and greatly enhanced bio-energy. They can tap into these powers to fly and generate energy blasts even without the need to transform into Zoalord battle-form. In one way or another, all can psionically manipulate both gravity and radiant energy, each Zoalord has their own unique powers.

This figure looks incredible, from the intricate designs of the bare white to the gold armor add-on parts, all look detailed and well sculpted. Simply fantastic. Being able to equip and remove the armor whenever you see fit - and even change the head part into its human form are big plus and add lots of play value to this action figure.
Of course you PAY for all the cool design and neat accessories, at 11,800Yen (~SGD$182) its not easy on the wallet. That being said, it is more value for money then Karas from the SOG line as you get more play value with this figure...

See the pics to decide for yourself.

Official Announcement: ACTSTA Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS- Subaru Nakajima 1/8 Action Figure

GSC has officially announced the launch of this new line of figure starting with Subaru in Nov this year. As mentioned in an earlier post, actsta is a new action figure series from Good Smile Company, designed to focus on both mobility and superior sculpting.

If the pics are anything to go back, GSC and Liquidstone really aced this one.
This ActSta is based off a garage kit designed by Liquid Stone, GSC refined the sculpting and color. I must say the figure looks really good with nice bright colors and fantastic detailing. The joints which allows Subaru to take a variety of poses are integrated well into the figure and do not look out off place or disjointed.

The figure comes with interchangeable face parts, arm parts and shoes to match the various poses that you can have Subaru take.

I must say GSC really hit the jackpot with this line, it makes me want to sell off all my Figmas and replace them with ActSta figures :) Bigger is Always Better :P

*Pre-Orders have already opened at some CSC shops. PO price is SGD$128.

GSC ACTSTA series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS- Subaru Nakajima 1/8 Action Figure

Mikatan updated her blog with a preview of a new line to be introduced by GoodSmile Company.
The biggest difference from the Figma line would be the sheer SIZE of these action figures. At 1/8 scale, they would tower over your Figmas. The line is named as "actSta"(short for action statues), which i think is a pretty apt name.

The first figure to be released for the ActSta line will be Subaru Nakajima from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS. For those not farmiliar, Subaru is the young upstart cyborg that joins the Mobile Division 6 headed by Yagami.

The figure itself looks detailed and well articulated, and should come with the usual staple of changable faces and misc accessories. This line would definitely fulfill the desires of PVC collectors who wished that they could pose their PVC figures.

No details yet on when the line will start production or what they'll cost. Stay tuned to this space for updates once I know more.

Meanwhile enjoy these initial shots of Subaru.

Maxfactory S.O.G. Max: Otoha Karas (えす おー じー まっくす おとはからす)

Maxfactory is introducing a new line, Soul Of Guys (S.O.G) which seems to me is a really weird name for a line. Its like something they thought of one night when they were drunk over sake... Annyywayyss , SOG seems to be targeted at the Bandai SIC line.

First release of the SOG line is Otoha Karas from the Karas Anime. Karas is a six-part original video animation of the henshin genre (a kind of Japanese superhero).

The figure itself looks really nice as it is highly detailed and seems to be really well articulated. You get a fair bit of accessories too like 2 Karas swords , exchangeable face parts , a stand and multiple hands.

Looks and sounds like a great buy doesn't it? Heres the kicker though, RRP for this is 11,800YEN!! which translates to a whopping SGD$178 for this figure. Whew... pricey pricey

You can get your KARAs from PlayASIA Here. They ship internationally

* Specifications Complete ABS&PVC poseable figure - not to scale - approcimately 185mm in height

Quote from GSC"
From Tatsunoko Production's 40 year aniversary OVA 'Karas', comes a figure of the main character from the show, 'Otoha Karas', who threw away his individuality to protect the city. The design of the figure has been created by the popular designer of the Eko Karas, Kenji Ando.

Flexible materials have been used all over the body, creating a very poseable action figure that never loses its style. The Karas sword in both its original version and expanded version are inlcluded, as well as exchangeable face parts and an abundance of replaceable hand parts.
